Amazon Smart Thermostat is on sale at the best price yet

It’s Earth Day, so in honor of the occasion, we’re kicking off today’s tour with an excellent deal on Amazon’s eco-friendly Smart Thermostat. Smart thermostats like Amazon can reduce and, in some cases, track your energy consumption. It’s also a great buy for bargain hunters since they can lower your monthly energy bill.

In honor of the day’s holiday, some retailers are discounting a range of smart thermostats, including Amazon’s budget-friendly option. Right now, you can buy the Smart Thermostat for $47.99 instead of $59.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Kohl’s, which is the lowest price yet. Additionally, depending on where you live, you may qualify for up to $50 off your local power provider.

Despite its relatively low price, Amazon’s Smart Thermostat is one of the best devices our reviewers have ever tested. Like more expensive thermostats, they can learn and adapt to your habits. It also comes with a simple and good looking interface and design that does not look cheap as well as enough controls for easy and regular use. However, its budget-based price tag means that it lacks some features. The thermostat can’t integrate with non-Alexa voice assistants like others can, and it also lacks native temperature sensors. Nor does it provide as much control over your climate as, say, Google’s third generation Nest Learning Thermostat.

Developed in partnership with Resideo, the Amazon Smart Thermostat allows you to control your home’s temperature with Alexa voice controls and remotely via an app.

Bargain hunters looking for a great desktop PC can currently pick up Apple’s M1-powered Mac Mini with an all-time low in both configurations. When reviewing the desktop, we found that it outperforms Intel-based Macs and even the M1-equipped 13-inch MacBook Pro thanks to its efficiently cooled chassis. If you don’t mind that it offers two UCB-C and two USB-A ports and lacks a screen, keyboard, and mouse, you can buy the 256GB model for $569.99 ($129) now at Costco. The deal is available to non-members as well, but they will have to pay an additional 5 percent fee of $33.50.

If you need the extra storage, you can save $149 on the 512GB version, which retails for $749.99 on Amazon—note that discount applies at checkout—and Costco. Non-members can also pick it up at Costco at an additional 5 percent fee for $793.49.

When your smartphone battery is running out of charge, a small portable charger like the Anker PowerPort III Nano can be a lifesaver. The USB-C charger is about a quarter wide and weighs about an ounce, but it also delivers 20W of power. This means that it can quickly charge a variety of devices, including modern phones like the iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S22 as well as iPads, AirPods, and more. It’s an easy-to-use accessory, and today, the white model is only $13.59 on Amazon or Target, instead of the usual $16.99. He’s a modest opponent, but he’s the best opponent we’ve seen this year. Note, however, that you will have to provide your own cable to use with the charger.

We were huge fans of the iPad Mini’s larger screen.

As we reported earlier this week, Amazon has dropped some great deals on the 2020 iPad Air and 2021 iPad Pro, but it looks like it doesn’t stop there. Once again, the retailer is dropping prices on another iPad: the latest iPad Mini. If you prefer a smaller tablet, you can buy the 64GB LTE-equipped iPad Mini for $589.99 instead of $649 at Amazon, which is the lowest price we’ve seen for this configuration. Costco also offers members the same discount, which non-members can get for an additional 5 percent cost.

The new iPad Mini comes with an 8.3-inch screen larger than its predecessor and a design that resembles the look and feel of the latest Apple tablets. Like the 2021 iPad Pro and iPad Air, it’s also compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil, which can charge wirelessly while magnetically attached to the side of the tablet. It also features a 12MP rear camera and Apple’s center feature, which allows the front camera to pan and zoom digitally during video calls. The 2021 model is also equipped with a USB-C port and an Apple A15 Bionic processor, which is fast but admittedly not quite as powerful as anything in Apple’s M1 chip. Read our review.

2021 iPad Mini (64 GB, LTE)

Apple’s revamped iPad Mini ditches the Home button and opts for a larger edge-to-edge display. It also comes with a faster processor, USB-C support, and a top-mounted power button that lights up as the Touch ID sensor.

If you’re in the market for a smart video doorbell, Google’s new Nest Doorbell is on sale for one of their best prices yet. Amazon, Adorama, Best Buy, Google, and B&H are now selling the smart video doorbell for $149.99 instead of $179.99, which is $20 less than the Black Friday price.

As Google’s first battery-powered smart video doorbell, you can install it in many more homes than the older wired version. The attractive device also comes with a camera capable of recording at 30 frames per second in HDR and night vision, and it can detect people, animals, vehicles and packages. Although its video resolution is limited to 960 x 1280 pixels and displays a narrower field of view than the old model, the image quality is still good. In addition, its long and rectangular shape provides better head-to-toe visibility for people standing outside your door.

Note, however, that recent reports reveal that the battery-powered Nest cannot charge in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, which can be a major drawback for those who live in colder climates. Then again, the battery lasts between six and eight weeks, which is better than many video doorbells although not as affordable as the wired model. Read our review.

The wireless device records 960 x 1280 resolution at up to 30 frames per second with HDR and night vision, and can detect people, animals, vehicles and packages.
