Anbernic RG503 Rockchip-based Portable Game Console with 4.95″ Samsung OLED Display






Anbernic launched a portable game console built around the Rockchip RK3566 Arm processor. The device has a 4.95-inch OLED display from Samsung. The RG503 was shown as out of stock shortly after its initial release, however it appears they are back in stock for $150.

The RG503 features a Rockchip RK3566 quad-core 64-bit Cortex A55 processor (up to 1.8GHz) and an Arm Mali-G52 GPU. The specs listed by Anbernic show 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. To compensate, the device features two TF slots (up to 512GB) as shown below.

Anbernic reported that they implemented the same 4.95-inch (960 x 544 pixels) OLED display as the one used on the PS Vita console. Additionally, there is an HDMI port, an OTG port, a 3.5mm jack input, and a USB-C port for fast charging.

Other features include vibration motors under the joysticks, dual high fidelity speakers and a Li-Po 3500 mAh battery which can last up to 6 hours. The device integrates support for 5G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless game consoles.

RG503 supports emuELEC which is a popular operating system designed to play older games. The company claims that the RG503 can support games from classic consoles like PSP, N64, GBA, NDS, and many more. Moreover, Anbernic claims that the device offers Kodi support for playing movies, music, TV, etc.

The handheld device has a stylish design similar to the PS Vita and comes in three colors, blue, black and bronze gray. The unit has a “metallic” finish, although the body material is made of non-slip plastic.

As of publication, the RG503 controller is available for $150 on the Anbernic website. Banggood and Aliexpress are also available at a similar price.
