Well, this title is none other than the iconic The Last of Us. The game series first started in 2013 and has so far seen two installments. But fans of this saga are still fond of its characters and the construction of the world in general. The Russo Brothers also seem to have a similar opinion about the legendary PlayStation franchise.

Joe and Anthony Russo rates The Last of Us Part II higher than Capcom’s Resident Evil Village!

IGN held a session for Joe and Anthony where they had to rate multiple video games based on their stalking scenes. That’s because their latest movie also features a lot of intense, high-octane action sequences.

Now the two have been going through short clips from multiple titles like the beloved Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Crash Bandicoot 4: It Takes Time, and Heavy Rain. There were other games as well, such as It Takes Two, Resident Evil Village and also The Last of Us Part II.

Impressing the Russo Brothers seems to be a difficult task, especially when it comes to games with action scenes. It was quite obvious that they gave above average average scores for most of the titles they saw. Surprisingly, even Resident Evil Village got an average of 5 out of 10 of the two. Joe called her “An example of an action sequence with very little character in it.”

The reason he was given a lower rating for the successful Capcom was due to the fact that he is not a fan of the first person perspective, and that Resident Evil Village is actually a first person title. Thus, she did not like Joe very much. According to him, this kind of views take away “Emotional Expression of the Actor”.

On the other hand, the duo were totally impressed with the PlayStation exclusive The Last of Us Part II. Joe even called her “One of the greatest games ever.” The director said that the scene he saw from the game was “Good use of a limited viewpoint and good sound design. I mean, this is a page from Spielberg’s manual.” Unsurprisingly, the title was awarded 9 0 out of 10 by the duo.

Now, what could a video game ask for more than that? Receiving such acclaim is certainly amazing, especially for the team at Naughty Dog who made the beloved PlayStation series. Neil Druckman will definitely hook up with Joe and Anthony just by watching this video.
