The Fitrist Vogue is a square-shaped smartwatch that looks good on the wrist. Fits snugly and is available in gold and silver. The watch has interchangeable straps which, of course, is part of the fun of wearing a smartwatch. However, sometimes it is annoying to release the bar as one has to undo the retractable spring bar.
The heart rate sensor on the back, along with the charging points of the magnetic charger, are immediately noticed. The metal sides of the watch feature a single button that becomes the back button when accessing various watch features. Next to it there is a speaker and a microphone grill. The watch features a 1.7 inch LCD touch screen that is very responsive. The watch is IP67 rated and would easily take a few splashes here and there on a rainy day.
Fitrist Vogue is up and running within a minute of taking it out of the box. Basic functions like step count, sleep tracking, and heart rate can be accessed without a phone or companion app, so it would be a perfect gift for seniors who don’t want to go through the hassle of setting it up with a phone.
But the watch has a companion app – FitRist Active – available on the Google Play Store and App Store. It gives a more detailed breakdown of activities such as steps, distance, calories, heart rate and sleep monitoring. The app also gives access to more watch faces, the ability to control notifications, check battery status as well as update the firmware.
Fitrist Vogue has 14 exercise modes and includes health monitoring parameters such as blood pressure, SpO2 and heart rate. There’s a whole host of apps included, including a dial program that will be used with your phone to make calls, apps to control the music and camera on your phone as well as the usual types of exercise, a stopwatch, hydration alerts, and more. The Intex Fitrist vogues watch has a good battery life for a smartwatch. It lasts about 1.5-2.5 days when connected to the phone and more than 3-5 days when turned on and off with a smartphone.
Comfortable to use for extended days, the watch is more like a smartwatch than a connected watch. But as with all smartwatches, health data should be taken with a pinch of salt and not on par with medical devices
For $4,499, the Fitrist Vogue is a good buy for those looking to go for a basic fitness and smartwatch.
