Playful MacBook Pro and Xbox rig strive for a better sound system

Redditor Winnisterr (“Win”) featured its setup on screen in a post titled “Set up My MacBook Pro and Xbox.”

She described her MacBook Pro as not exactly new but still formidable as an Intel i9. It has a 2.9GHz processor, 6 cores, 16GB of DDR4 RAM as well as a Radeon Pro 55X 4GB graphics card.

Creative Pebble speakers on either side of the curved screen are inexpensive. Maybe too much.

Pair the MBP and Xbox Series X gaming console with the 27-inch Gigabyte G27QC Curved Monitor. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and runs at a refresh rate of 165 Hz, ready for games with a fast response rate of 1ms. It features adaptive sync technology and DisplayPort connectivity.

On-board input devices include a Keychron K3 v2 mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting and Gateron brown optical switches. It’s an ultra-thin design with a 75% layout. Win used with Logitech MX Master 3 wireless mouse.

Creative Pebble Speakers

Setup sound is the domain of a range of Creative Pebble Powered desktop speakers. One commenter asked if it was good.

Wayne admitted, “They’re not amazing, but they are much better than any screens built into the speakers, I say. It’s what I plan to upgrade next.”

Another commenter said they were considering getting the Monoprice MM-3 multimedia speakers. But they ended up with Bose speakers, “which is fine, but if you want a real upgrade, maybe this is an option for you.”

“I’m going to have to look at them,” Wayne said, “I’ve been leaning toward the Audioengine A2 but I’m still hesitating so far.”

Another commentator made a suggestion of a different kind. Stick with Creative Pebbles, but mount them with a subwoofer.

“I have Creative Pebble Plus, which is pretty much the same but with a small size [subwoofer]They said. “I would say the extra amount for the submarine is well worth it.”

Of all these options, Creative Pebbles is the least expensive, at under $50 even with a low-end subwoofer. Another fairly affordable option is Edifier-powered monitors.

Killer LEGO McLaren Racer

We’ve seen some fun settings lately with interesting and complex Lego models – space exploration and racing cars mainly. But there are new, affordable star Wars The dioramas are there, too.

Wayne herself has a Lego Technic Formula 1 Race Car mounted on the wall to the left of her desk.

One commenter asked, “How did you hang up the Lego?”

Wayne replied, “Just like in this video but just the opposite for the big core.”

The car itself is something to admire. It is a detailed replica of the 2022 McLaren F1 race car, developed in collaboration with McLaren Racing.

It includes features such as a V6 engine with moving pistons, steering, suspension and a precise cornering differential. She is over two feet tall, which Wayne said surprised her.
