Samsung wants to save the world (with or without your help)

If you wish, you can buy eco-friendly versions of whatever you’re looking for. Renewed carpet? check. Eco-friendly underwear? under there. Planet-friendly foods, furniture, and shoes are ubiquitous, and that doubles as the consumer electronics space. You can get green headphones, renewable smartphones, and powered laptops that are guaranteed to leave the smallest possible impact on the environment.

But you don’t really want them, do you? The Global Sustainability Study 2021, conducted by consultancy Simon-Kucher & Partners, polled more than 10,000 people from around the world. It found that while 85 percent of people report that they have transformed their purchasing behavior to be more sustainable in the past five years, only 34 percent are willing to pay more for sustainable products. (It’s a start, I think).
