Hulu app audio not working on iPad app after iPadOS 15.4 update
According to multiple reports, all Hulu content plays without sound on iPad tablets. The problem is said to have started after the iPadOS 15.4 update, and it is still present in the latest iPadOS 15.4.
Other streaming services are said to be working fine on the iPadOS 15.4 update. Also, the Hulu app’s audio works fine on other devices as well.
No sound after iOS update
So the latest iOS 15.4.1 update stops audio playing on Hulu on my iPad,! Everything else works sound wise Netflix YouTube Amazon. , delete reinstalled Hulu, try hard boot everything, headphones work but no sound with video content from Hulu, not even getting Hulu noise when the app is running.
Same issue here with iPad Air2 after 15.4 upgrade, because Hulu audio works on all other Steaming services. Apple says it’s up to Hulu to solve the problem. A longtime customer but I would consider dropping the service if it can’t be resolved…Even though I have other streaming devices, my iPad is what I use most often to stream Hulu.
Hulu team is already aware, a possible workaround
The Hulu team is already aware of the Hulu app audio bug that iPadOS 15.4/15.4. The company is currently investigating, but there are no details on the ETA for a potential fix.
Sorry to hear you’re having this, Jennifer! This behavior may be related to something we are currently investigating. When you have a second, please call or chat by following the instructions at: https://hulu.tv/ContactSupport- so we can take a closer look with you 1:1!
In the meantime, a potential workaround involves sending Hulu content to another device, and then back to the iPad. After that, the Hulu content restores the audio, but you will have to do this every time you launch Hulu.
PS As other users in this thread have pointed out that you can play the audio back by castin to another device (i.e. Apple TV and then switch back to iPad) but that’s a pain as you have to do it every time you launch Hulu. There must be low hardware/software interaction with the iPad Air2 and the app to be the cause of this.
We will update this story as events unfold.

Update 2 (April 28)
05:47 PM (Indochina time): Here’s another solution that may help those affected resolve the audio issue.
Cast to another device and then back to your iPad. The sound will fix. If you don’t have an AirPlay capable device like me, download Mirroring360 for Windows and stream to it with a free trial. You have to do this every time you open Start Streaming though…. I hope this helps you. (source)
